The Nursery provides care for children age 0-5 per day in our nursery. We organise our day so that the children can choose from, and work at, a range of activities and, in doing so, build up their ability to select and work through a task to its completion. The children are also helped and encouraged to take part in adult-led small and large group activities, which introduce them to new experiences and help them to gain new skills, as well as helping them to learn to work with others. We take account of children’s changing energy levels throughout the day. We cater for children’s individual needs for rest and quiet activities during the day.
Creche spaces can be offered if there is availability due to sickness or holiday.
- We are open for 50 weeks each year.
- We are closed for a week between Christmas and New Year and a week at the end of August
- We are open for 5 days each week
- The times we are open are 8 – 6pm
- We provide care and education for young children between the ages of 0 and 5 years.
We make snacks and meals a social time at which children and adults eat together. We plan the menus for snacks and tea so that they provide the children with healthy and nutritious food. Our lunches are provided by Zebedees and there is a rolling menu. Please tell us about your child’s dietary needs, particularly any known allergies or food intolerance and we will plan accordingly.

Our Nursery
Our nursery operates from one carefully designed room, thoughtfully divided into two welcoming areas to support different stages of development.
🌼 Buttercups (0–23 months)
Our Buttercups side provides a calm, nurturing environment tailored to babies and younger toddlers.
The space is arranged to promote:
- Sensory exploration
- Secure attachments
- Early developmental milestones
🌸 Pansies (24 months+)
Our Buttercups side provides a calm, nurturing environment tailored to babies and younger toddlers.
The space is arranged to promote:
- Sensory exploration
- Secure attachments
- Early developmental milestones
We currently accommodate:
- Up to 3 Buttercups per day
- Up to 12 Pansies per day
However, due to the flexibility of our layout and adaptable furniture, numbers can vary depending on demand and the individual needs of the children attending.
At Play ‘n Grow, we believe children learn best through meaningful play experiences. Our daily activities include:
- Arts and crafts
- Sensory exploration
- Small world and imaginative play
- Physical development activities
- Storytelling and communication activities
Each week (usually Monday or Wednesday), children attending 8am–6pm enjoy soft play sessions in the large hall, complete with a bouncy castle — always a firm favourite!
Outdoor play is an essential part of our day. Children have daily access to our garden, encouraging exploration, movement, and fresh air.
Where possible, we also enjoy outings in the local community, including visits to:
- The park
- The castle
- The surrounding local area
These experiences help children build confidence, awareness, and a sense of belonging within their community.
